Resumen

violence against women (FVWcW) in Bolivia, using the 2016 Survey of Prevalence and Characteristics of Violence against Women (EPCVcM). Heise's (1998) Ecological Model is employed, which integrates individual, relational and community factors, estimated using a Probit model. The results indicate that individual characteristics, such as older age and educational level, decrease the probability of violence, while intimate partner alcohol consumption and experience of violence in childhood increase the risk. Relational factors, such as shared decision-making, act as protective elements, while financial stress and union due to pregnancy or pressure increase the probability of violence. At the community level, a higher incidence was observed in the highlands than in other regions of the country. This study confirms the multifactorial nature of intimate partner violence and highlights the importance of designing public policies focused on education, economic well-being and intergenerational violence prevention. The findings contribute to the understanding of the dynamics of cfVcM in specific contexts and to the implementation of more effective strategies for its eradication.
